She graduated from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine with a Masters in Chinese Medicine.

Rooted in a Latin American lineage of healers, Joannie’s journey into wellness began early. Inspired by her father’s community healing work, she committed herself to a path of holistic health. Her personal experience with her mother’s stroke and the transformative impact of acupuncture on her recovery solidified her decision to pursue a career in Chinese medicine.
Joannie’s mission is to empower her patients by reconnecting them with their own healing potential. She is dedicated to providing relief from psycho-emotional challenges and musculoskeletal pain, helping each individual achieve a balanced, pain-free, and joyful life.
Outside of her practice, Joannie enjoys engaging with her community, exploring music, and collecting crystals, all of which contribute to her vibrant and holistic approach to wellness.

Meet Wanlin Sun, our dedicated licensed acupuncturist, who brings a wealth of expertise to Sano Acupuncture. Wanlin, MSTOM, L.Ac, is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner who believes in a lifestyle-centric approach to health and balance. She was raised in an environment where TCM was not only a health option but a way of life. Her clinical experiences in the US and in China showed her that customizing TCM practices to suit diverse backgrounds is key to achieving wellness effectively and seamlessly. Wanlin is passionate about discussing the ways Chinese Medicine could be integrated into each individual’s life for wellness and igniting conversations on holistic wellness.
While her specialization lies in women's health, fertility, pain management, stress, and weight management, she firmly believes that TCM holds valuable insights for every individual. The definition of wellness varies for each person, but the practical applications of TCM philosophy can enhance anyone's life through small, impactful additions. Her philosophy centers on the pursuit of health and balance with minimal friction and Wanlin am passionate about discussing how seemingly small changes, viewed through the lens of TCM, can make a significant difference. In her treatments, she utilizes acupuncture, electro acupuncture, trigger point therapy, cupping, moxa, and Tui Na to harmonize and create balance in the body. Outside the treatment room, she enjoys practicing Qi Gong and being immersed in nature.
